Double Wise Words: Womanhood

The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender.

There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind.

There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined.

We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith.

We have enough greed; we need more goodness.

We have enough vanity; we need more virtue.

We have enough popularity; we need more purity.

-Margaret D. Nadauld

I love quotes like these when I feel emotional or inadequate in some way because I’m not “tough”. What does being a woman mean to you?

  1. It is about being soft and vulnerable even though I’m not always comfortable with either. The world needs that from us though.

  2. Whatever you are, do what you do best 🙂 Whether it’s tough or soft, both types of women have their virtues. A majority have the potential to be both. Ideally, I think it’s important to show both sides. Only many forget to be just as proud of one as they are of the other, which is what I think you addressed beautifully in this post.
